LONDON, ENGLAND – JUNE 30: Princess Beatrice of York at The Masterpiece Marie Curie Auction Party

Marie Curie Cancer Care is delighted to have been selected as the charity partner of Masterpiece London for a second year. In 2013 the event raised a fantastic £840,000, and in 2014 we have set ourselves the target of raising £1million. Masterpiece London is the capital’s leading art, antiques and design fair. The Masterpiece Marie Curie Party takes place within Masterpiece London, held in a spectacular purpose-built pavilion on the South Grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. As well as enjoying a fabulous Champagne, cocktail and canapé reception, guests at the party will have the chance to participate in an auction of art, antiques, luxury items and money-can’t-buy experiences.

We have some fantastic auction prizes including a painting lesson with Ronnie Wood, a stay for 20 guests in a wonderful French chateau and your very own personalised ‘Reverso’ watch courtesy of our generous sponsor, Jaeger-LeCoultre. All of them are available to view, and bid on, through this website. Marie Curie Cancer Care gives people with terminal illnesses the choice to die at home. There are more than 2,000 Marie Curie Nurses across the UK, providing free hands-on care for patients and vital emotional support for their loved ones. They give comfort and take away the fear. Money raised from The Masterpiece Marie Curie Party Auction will enable us to continue this essential work.

Given the choice, most of us would want to die at home, surrounded by the people and things we cherish. Marie Curie Cancer Care makes this possible. Our nurses provide free hands-on care for people with all terminal illnesses in their own homes, and vital emotional support for their loved ones. Whether someone has cancer, heart failure, dementia or another disease, we do whatever it takes to make things easier. This could mean relieving their pain, helping them in and out of bed, or just answering those troubling questions.

We give comfort – and take away the fear. We allow families to make the most of the precious time they have left together. And we’re there day or night, until the very end. But the sad fact is, every five minutes someone in the UK dies without the care they need at the end of their life. That’s why we urgently need to reach more people – and why your support of the Masterpiece Marie Curie Party is so valuable to us.

Steeped in over 180 years of history and as the largest and one of the most responsible leaders in high-end watchmaking, Jaeger-LeCoultre has chosen Masterpiece London for the exhibition of its Hybris Artistica collection of exceptional timepieces, which includes twelve fascinating timepieces that represent an unprecedented combination of design, technical construction, watchmaking art and exquisite craftsmanship. Individually and collectively, the twelve pieces underline both the Manufacture’s leadership in Grandes Complications and, thanks to its in-house workshops, its boundless creativity in Métiers rares – the fine arts of enamelling, gemsetting, and engraving.
