Berkshire Community Foundation is today delighted to announce that HRH Princess Beatrice of York is to become the Patron of Berkshire Community Foundation from 1 July 2014.
Chris Barrett, Chairman of the Foundation, said: “We are extremely pleased that Princess Beatrice has chosen to become Patron of Berkshire Community Foundation. We hope that through HRH’s patronage, we can highlight the work of Community Foundations and the often hidden needs that exist in counties such as Berkshire. We hope that the support will enable us to raise the profile of Berkshire’s community and voluntary groups even further.”
Andrew Middleton, CEO of the Foundation, said: “The Princess’s decision to become Patron of Berkshire Community Foundation reflects her wish to support charitable activity locally. It is an honour for the Foundation to have been chosen by The Princess and we hope the patronage will raise the profile of the excellent work that is done in the County. “.
HRH Princess Beatrice has close connections to Berkshire, having attended schools in Windsor and Ascot. The Princess is patron of a number of other charities and, together with six friends, founded the Big Change Charitable Trust which supports projects that improve the lives of young people.
