Teddy M writes:

“The inspiration for the choice of the word ‘LOVE’ over a Teddy M Heart was simple. The positive energy around the Duchess and her family is truly infectious. She is constantly running over ideas and selflessly seeking to help others.

“Having created the original artwork on my iPad, I had a template printed to a 140x140cm canvas and worked alone for a couple of days painting and building up layers and texture with acrylics. “The weather stayed with me as we moved the painting to the staggeringly beautiful grounds of Royal Lodge. We laid the canvas on the lawn and I was joined by the Duchess. When the Duchess saw my jacket, she quickly found her own patch- emblazoned military jacket and we began painting the word ‘LOVE’ with red acrylic. The Duke of York popped out to see what we were up to, it was all a little surreal but, equally so normal too.

“The Princesses joined in a few days later on yet another beautiful sunny and warm Sunday afternoon in the gardens of Royal Lodge. I suggested the Princesses treat the blue background as a ‘wall’ and to add their own words creating a look of graffiti. We painted outdoors on the lawn, kneeling over the artwork and it was such a relaxed experience.

When you look at the painting, you will see three distinct forms of handwriting. Beatrice on the bottom left, Eugenie bottom right and the Duchess across the top. It made me smile when Eugenie said it was amazing to be painting with the artist himself. It’s not everyday I get to paint with two Princesses and a Duchess

“And the name of the painting, ‘Royal Love’ seemed obvious to me and the Duchess quickly approved.”

“A fews days after the painting was completed, Eugenie sent me a lovely text thanking me for reminding her how art is so amazing for the soul and asking for my help with art materials. I was deeply touched. She’s a lovely, thoughtful woman.”

The painting will be auctioned at The Masterpiece Fair dinner on 30 June in aid of Children in Crisis, the Duchess of York’s charity, which helps train teachers so that thousands of children get an education. An exhibition of Teddy M Heart’s including a print of the “Royal Love” painting will be on public display at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, London from 21st June 2016

Once again, I don’t suppose this will be reported in the British Press.
